Your First Appointment

Your first appointment is a naturopathic consultation of up to one hour.  During this consultation we will discuss all aspects of your current health situation.  Prior to our meeting you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire.  This will take 30 - 40 minutes to complete. After this consultation you will be sent the SmartDNA testing kit and instructions.  The testing can take 4-6 weeks to complete.

Your first consultation is optional, however we highly recommend this if you wish to create links between your current health conditions and your genetic wellness report.

Why would I do this first?

The genetic testing has a two fold purpose.  The first is to understand your genetic make-up so that you understand the areas in your body that have the potential for "weakness", as well as understanding the lifestyle and dietary factors that are necessary to keep yourself in excellent health.

Also, importantly the testing relates to your health right now.  Actually applying the results to your health situation can result in markedly improved results once some of the underlying factors are addressed.

Your second appointment

This will be scheduled once your results come back in.  Your SmartDNA report is sent to us via email, and will also be forwarded by email to you so that you have time to read through it prior to our second meeting.  This is a one hour consultation where we go over the report and apply it to your health, your diet and your lifestyle.  This consultation will focus entirely on your particular genetic variants and make them meaningful to you going forward.

Both consultations can be done face to face in our Christchurch clinic, or on-line via Skype.

Remember . . . genetic polymorphisms are only the potential for "weakness".
With proper dietary and lifestyle management, these need never be expressed.
