DNA Test Result Interpretation

With increasing numbers of marketing websites popping up offering all manner of lab tests,
the result is many people getting tests done without any assistance in how to interpret and use them.

Often these reports are identical to what we offer, however we are finding many of these clients coming to us to get help with understanding their results.  If you do not know where to get started in working with your report, or even what the most important findings are, then you are not getting the value out of your expenditure.  These reports are there for you to make a real difference to your health profile moving forward.

We are also finding that many people are not interpreting the results entirely correctly, and this is especially true for the methylation profile.  You really need an understanding of the weighting the different SNP's hold, as well as the combinations of SNP's that tend to be more problematic.

So if you have a DNA report that is the same as we offer and are struggling to use it, we are offering a 1 hour stand alone consultation to go over it with you.  This is a consultation that can be done face to face in our Christchurch clinic, or on-line with Google Meet.   If your report is substantially different, we may still be able to help. 

What to Consider
​Not all SNP's are created equal.  Some do not pose much of an issue if just one SNP is found, others do.

Understanding combinations of SNP's is important.  Such as multiple SNP's in the same pathways, and interconnecting pathways. 

Results are not conflicting.  They simply are what they are.  The important point is find a route through the information with the weighting on the most important findings.

Our One Hour Together
This is not a lot of time for such a big report.  Prior to us meeting I will have gone through your results to understand the most important points.

When we meet I will get a quick understanding from you as to what your goals are, and why you got this test done.

From this point we will spend the rest of our time going over what is most important for you to highlight and focus on first.  Your input into the consultation will drive the direction, or you can just listen, highlight and soak it all in.
